When it was launched last year, Lexus’ flagship sedan certainly grabbed the world’s attention with its striking looks, and now the new LS F SPORT derivative puts an exclamation point on the range with handling enhancements and a performance-infused design outside and in.
THE F SPORT LOOK Already blessed with a coupé- like silhouette, the F SPORT has an even more aggressive look with a unique and dramatic rendition of the Lexus signature spindle grille. Its intricate design is testament to the five dedicated months it took computer- aided design (CAD) operators to achieve the desired texture and interaction with light, adjusting 7 100 individual surfaces to achieve the desired look and texture. Along with the special F SPORT front grille, the rocker panel and trunk mouldings also accentuate the sedan’s rakish profile; though it’s not just about aesthetics. When combined with the enlarged side grille, the F SPORT grille is functional as well, helping to maintain the vehicle’s cooling performance. Other enhanced exterior design features include F SPORT badging on fenders and exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels.

INTERIOR ENHANCEMENTS The F SPORT persona shines throughout the cabin too with a driver-focused cockpit and a front passenger seat area designed to gently envelop the occupant.There are F SPORT-exclusive front seats that provide enhanced support for dynamic driving, while a perforated-grill pattern on seating surfaces and unique scored-aluminium trim elements add additional sporty air. In the driver’s hands is a special F SPORT steering wheel and behind that a speedometer and tachometer in a movable meter ring that slides to display information – it’s a design adapted from the limited-production Lexus LFA supercar and a further expression of the car’s dynamic character.Attention to detail shows in the aluminium accelerator, brake and footrest pedals, as well as the F SPORT perforated shift handle and footrest. Ultra-suede in the seats and headliner is the crowning touch and, for those desiring the ultimate sporty look, a new Flare Red interior is available exclusively on F SPORT models. The LS F SPORT comes standard with an aluminium door trim and simulated-leather door armrests.
CHASSIS ENHANCEMENTS Based on an extended version of the same GA platform that underpins the Lexus LC coupe, the LS is already imbued with enhanced handling, ride smoothness and cabin quietness. Now, the LS F SPORT further capitalises on the platform’s responsiveness and agility with the latest generation of the brand’s advanced chassis control technology, Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM)
VDIM SYSTEM This manages all vehicle subsystems – braking, steering, powertrain and suspension – to control basic longitudinal, lateral and vertical motion, as well as yaw, roll and pitch. This optimal calibration means exceptional ride comfort, enhanced traction as well as safety and handling agility, along with a composed, flat and stable posture when cornering.
ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION A new more advanced Adaptive Variable Suspension activates in Sport S+ mode providing continuous adjustment of damping control for all wheels in response to the way the car is being driven and road surface conditions. This continuously variable capability has increased the number of control levels from nine in the previous LS system to 650. The result is faster, seamless and more re ned operation. Driving on uneven roads, for example, will see the system increase ride comfort without too great an increase in damping force. When the steering wheel is turned, however, damping force is automatically increased to suppress the effect of the car’s weight transfer and maintain a at cornering attitude.
PLUS… The LS F SPORT gets standard 20-inch wheels, along with larger front and rear brakes (6-piston callipers on front and 4 pistons on rear), unlocking more of the platform’s intrinsic performance capability. The LS F SPORT is also equipped with LDH (Variable Gear Ratio Steering) and has a sport-tuned air suspension with rapid-height function. The overall result is a full-size premium luxury sedan that responds more like a sports coupé through the curves, underlining exactly what F SPORT stands for.
